Woman ploughs Toyota 4×4 into subway in China (Pictures)

The woman in question was in the process of reversing her Toyota 4×4 when she lost control of the car’s brakes, jamming the throttle by accident, according to a report by People’s Daily Online.

The wayward vehicle hurtled backwards through the street railings and ploughed down into the entrance of subway station in Fuzhou, south-east China, coming to rest almost vertical.

Damage to other vehicles including a baby pink moped is clearly visible in witness photos posted on the social media network Weibo, as well as the extent of the damage to the railings.

The incident is reported to have occurred on the morning of December 9 and surely shocked local commuters hoping to catch their morning subway train to work, who found a car blocking their way.

The identity of the woman has not yet been confirmed, nor whether she or any bystanders suffered injuries during the accident.
