Why you should watch Thoongaavanam: Top 5 Reasons

Why you should watch Thoongaavanam: Top 5 Reasons

With Kamal Haasan celebrating his birthday and also awaiting the release of his film ‘Thoongaavanam’ on Nov 10th for Diwali, here’s a look at the reasons why the movie could turn out to be a hit.

1. Performance-oriented actors
When you have a powerhouse talent like Kamal Haasan as the lead, it’s very rare for other talented actors to share screenspace with him. But in Thoongaavanam, Rajesh M Selva (director) has managed to rope in Prakash Raj, Kishore and Sampath in pivotal roles. These well-known performers have managed to grab the attention even in the trailer.

2. Trisha 50
Post her break-up with Varun Manian, Trisha went on to sign more than four films. What’s interesting is, Thoongaavanam, become her 50th film, and that has already created a hype among her fans and movie buffs. Also, Trisha is playing a role of a cop for the first time and she is pairing up with Kamal Haasan for the second time, after Manmadhan Ambu. Thoongaavanam is definitely going to be a treat for her fans, as she has a lot of scope to perform.

3. The Remake Factor
Kamal Haasan’s tryst with remakes continues. After Papanasam (the Tamil remake of the hit Malayalam film Drishyam) made the cash registers ringing at the box office, now, Thoongaavanam, is also a remake — of the superhit French thriller, Sleepless Nights directed and co-written by Frederic Jardin. Ever since its release in 2011, the film has garnered praise from both critics and the common audience, and it’s been considered as one of the best thrillers in recent times. Looks like this film will again be a treat for Ulaganayagan fans.

4. Ghibran’s music
Ghibran’s music, especially the background score, was talked about as one of the strengths in both Papanasam and Uttama Villain. Thoongaavanam. Interestingly, has only one song ‘Neeyae Unaku Raaja’ sung by none-other than Kamal Haasan himself, and its already topping the chart. And he is said to have come up with a scintillating background score that is more mod and pulsating for this film. So, Ghibran is another factor for you to watch the film.

5. Go for Kamal
We don’t need any specific reasons to watch Thoongaavanam, when you have Kamal Haasan in the lead. Sporting a different look in the film, Kamal Haasan has already impressed fans with his body language and style in the trailer. Director Rajesh has said that this film will be a treat for his fans as he has tried to bring together all the elements that clicked with fans in Kamal’s other films in this film, including a look similar to the one from Sathya (complete with the bracelet), a Virumaandi/Thevar Magan-like moustache. Looks like the film will satisfy both his fans and critics.
