Vettel takes Chinese Grand Prix pole for Ferrari

SEBASTIAN Vettel barely pipped Kimi Raikkonen to pole position for the Chinese Grand Prix.

The Ferraris locked out the front row, the world championship leader’s final lap undercutting the Finn’s by just 0.087 of a second.

Neither of the Mercedes had the pace to catch the red cars in the chilly conditions, Valtteri Bottas beating Lewis Hamilton after the reigning world champion made a mistake on his final flying lap.

Max Verstappen was the quickest of the Red Bulls, one place ahead of Daniel Ricciardo who was lucky to make it out for the session at all.
