SWEDEN: Masked gang storm European train station beating up refugees in revenge attack

More than 200 thugs at Stockholm’s main station beat up anyone who did not look Swedish apparantly to avenge the killing of a female asylum centre worker by a Somali boy.

Swedish police say the gang distributed anti-migrant leaflets, apparently showing the message ‘Enough Now’, before assaulting people at the station last night.

Police spokesman Towe Hagg says officers arrested four men after the brutal episode.

Swedish media are reporting that the thugs, linked to the country’s football hooligan scene, were targeting unaccompanied minors with a “foreign” background.

She said one man was charged with assaulting a police officer and the others were charged with being masked in public – an offence illegal in Sweden – and with causing a public disturbance.

Sweden, one of the top destinations for asylum-seekers in Europe, received a record 160,000 arrivals last year.

The country has experienced a sharp drop in newcomers since photo ID checks were introduced this month.
