UK, COVENTRY: Police have arrested a third person on suspicion of murder following the death of a Foleshill man last week. The 39-year-old, from Holbrooks, was arrested this morning and is currently in custody. Meanwhile Kirithas Sriskantharajah, of Church Way, Bedworth, appeared in court charged with the murder of Arunasalam Arunothayan.

He was arrested on Thursday evening after Mr Arunothayan, aged 48, died in hospital. Mr Arunothayan was admitted to hospital at 4am on Thursday after police said he was involved in an altercation in his Foleshill Road flat the previous evening. He died later that morning. Sriskantharajah and a 20-year-old woman were arrested in the evening and late on Sunday night he was charged with murder.

The 20-year-old, also arrested on suspicion of murder, has been released on police bail pending further inquiries. Sriskantharajah, a restaurateur, appeared at Coventry Magistrates Court this morning. During a short hearing he was told his case would be adjourned until March 11 at the crown court in Leamington. He was remanded in custody. Police have previously said that a post mortem examination had showed that he died as a result of an assault. Further tests are now being carried out.
