Delhi: A 19-year old woman was stabbed to death by two young men in Delhi for protesting against sexual harassment, police said Friday. The two accused accosted the woman when she went to the market late on Thursday evening, and stabbed her 35 times on her face chest and stomach, a police officer said. She ran screaming for help, but the men chased her and stabbed her repeatedly till she collapsed after entering a neighbour’s house.
“She ran away from them and entered our balcony. They followed her there and stabbed her till she fell unconscious,” a witness told TV channels. Her mother, who tried to to save her, also sustained injuries. Both the suspects have been arrested and charged with murder. The woman had reportedly filed a complaint with the police in 2013 against the two men, and a case of molestation was filed against them under section 354.
“If the police had taken action earlier, this wouldn’t have happened. Even now there is no action,” the woman’s relative told CNN-IBN.
