Renault F1 reveal striking yellow livery for 2016

The team’s launch in February showed off a pleasant black-based colour scheme for their 2016 car, with flashes of yellow for some variety.

At the time, the announcement was made that this livery was merely interim and that a different livery would be used for the Australian GP and beyond.

On Wednesday of the Melbourne race, Renault held another launch event to take the covers off their actual livery, a striking yellow that is reminiscent of the old Jordan liveries.

The French manufacturer had also started to run a black and yellow livery at the time of their previous departure from the sport at the end of 2010.

The car was used in a promotional shoot on Monday that saw drivers Kevin Magnussen & Jolyon Palmer meet Australian surfer Ellie-Jean Coffey. The RS.16 was put on a long board and towed out into the Pacific Ocean and went surfing, with Renault keen to point out that it was just a show car, and not one of the two race cars used this Sunday!
