Messi, Suarez and Neymar together again?

Do you remember the last time you saw Barcelona’s attacking trident on the pitch? After the first few minutes of their game against Las Palmas on September 26, FC Barcelona have been without the best attacking trident in the world. In fact, during this time they have only been seen together once, with Neymar visiting the gym where both Leo Messi and Luis Suarez were taking physiotherapy sessions – a picture of the meeting was immortalised in a photograph posted to the social networks.

If there is no setback with Neymar’s flight returning from Brazil to Barcelona, on Thursday at 6pm CET the trident will be reunited once again, passing the ball between them. They have spent 54 days apart and the club may publish a photo or video of them after training, as a prelude to what we may see on Saturday at the Santiago Bernabeu.

For now, all the indiciations are positive that they will play together in the Clasico. It’s not been resolved whether Messi will start or come on as a substitute in the second period. The return of the trident sees the league’s top goalscorer, with 11, alongside the second top goalscorer, on 9, with the best player in history. An explosive chemical mix that could put Madrid to bed and open up a six point gap.

But before counting the chickens before they are hatched, we must be careful about the recovery of Leo, and the state of Neymar after two international games and a trans-atlantic flight home.
