Cesare Prandelli has announced his 23-man Italy squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He has left out Fiorentina striker Guiseppe Rossi, who has been recovering from a knee injury. Despite being included in Prandelli`s preliminary squad, Rossi failed to make the final cut. In the just concluded Serie A season, Rossi tallied an impressive 14 goals in 17 matches for Fiorentina. The striker suffered an injury in January 2014 due to which he was ruled out of action for four months.
Since making his comeback, the Fiorentina striker has not played the full 90 minutes in any of the matches. He was taken off after 71 minutes during Italy`s friendly against Republic of Ireland. A frustated Rossi, took to microblogging site Twitter to vent out his anger regarding his exclusion from the Italy squad but also whished his team well.
