At least 58 people are dead after a gunman opened fire at the Mandalay Bay resort in Las Vegas – the deadliest mass shooting in US history.
Las Vegas Sheriff Joe Lombardo said the death toll had increased while the number of people injured was at least 515. The gunman, Stephen Paddock, killed himself after spraying bullets at victims from a room on the 32nd floor, where two holes were smashed in windows.
Crowds were enjoying the Route 91 Harvest country music festival when the massacre unfolded.
US President Donald Trump called the shooting “an act of pure evil” and said he plans to visit Las Vegas on Wednesday to meet with victims’ families and survivors.
Meanwhile, the gunman’s brother has told of his family’s shock, saying: “Something happened, he snapped.”
