iPhone SE Unveiled: 5 things you need to know

The iPhone SE has the same processing and graphics performance of the larger Apple 6S, the firm said, and can capture 4K video. The iPhone SE will will be available in 110 countries by the end of May. With a starting price of $399/$499 the new iPhone is the “most affordable price ever” for a brand new handset, Apple added.

Design
This phone is, from the outside, just an iPhone 5s. Same 4-inch display, and same glass back and vaguely industrial lines and none of that curved glass nonsense on the front that has led to the iPhone 6 and 6s breaking every time they even look at the ground.

Camera
There was a lot of back and forth over what kind of camera the SE would carry. Now we know. It’s got the same camera setup as the 6s, including a 12 megapixel sensor and 4K video support. That also means Live Photos, solid focusing speed via “focus pixels” and True Tone Flash—which brightens the display for better lit selfies.

Comes in four colours
Each of which we’re sure you can guess. Yep, the iPhone SE will ship in the four hues that have become synonymous with Apple’s phone line – Space Grey, Silver, Gold and Rose Gold.

Battery Life
Battery life has long been an issue with iPhones. iPhone 6S Plus aside, none of Apple’s devices are known for their strong stamina. Yet, Apple claims the SE should easily outlast your iPhone 5S.

Release Date
When it’s launched next week it’ll set you back $399, or $499 for the 64GB version.
