After an outage of more than 40 minutes, social networking website Facebook and its photo sharing service Instagram are back online. Facebook, appeared to be down on Tuesday morning and the social media site acknowledged there was an issue without getting into the details. The company’s photo sharing website Instagram too was down with users experiencing issues logging in.

Users from the United States and India reported that they were unable to log on to the website.

According to a Reuters report, Facebook executives were not immediately available for comment. Some users also reported that dating app Tinder was also down. Interestingly, a number of users responded with hilarious tweets about the outage on Twitter, tagging their tweets with the hashtag #SocialMeltdown2015.
