A 23-year-old man has stolen human brains from a hospital and later sold them on eBay, a media report said. According to metro.co.uk, David Charles broke into a psychiatric hospital and stole human brains which he later sold on eBay.
Charles gained entry to the Indiana Medical History Museum – formerly the Central Indiana Hospital for the Insane – on multiple occasions, a court heard.
Charles was arrested after a man who bought brain materials on eBay tracked the items to the museum, the report said.
Investigators, who seized 80 jars of human tissue from Charles, identified him from a fingerprint that he had left behind at the museum.
Charles was arrested on charges of burglary and stealing. He was sentenced to one year of home detention and two years of probation.
