An explosion at a factory in China has killed at least 65 people. At least 100 others were injured in the blast in Kunshan, a city in the eastern province of Jiangsu, according to China’s official Xinhua news agency.
A rescue operation is underway and officials are investigating the cause of the explosion. China Central Television (CCTV) identified the factory as belonging to Zhongrong Plating.
The firm makes car parts and employs about 450 workers. According to CCTV, the company’s clients include US car giant General Motors.
