Apple’s iPhone 7 may have Samsung deep inside

Rumours about Apple’s next edition of the iPhone are already spreading and Samsung is said to be deeply engrained in it.

According to the latest news reports, Samsung could well be manufacturing a majority of the next generation A9 processors that will power the iPhone 7. Samsung has manufactured the A7 processors for the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 5S.

The A8 processors in the iPhone 6 were manufactured by Taiwan’s TSMC, but it looks like Apple has gone back to Samsung for its next flagship device. A report by South Korea’s ‘Maeil’ business newspaper says that Samsung Electronics beat its rivals, Qualcomm and TSMC, to supply application processor for the iPhone 7 and Galaxy S6.

According to it, Samsung will be responsible for making almost 75 per cent of the processors for the iPhone 7. The Galaxy S6 will also have Samsung processors in place instead of Qualcomm processors, the report adds.

The Galaxy S6 is expected to be announced at the MWC in Barcelona in March and is expected to come with a revamped design and a host of new features.
