Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar’s 2.0 will hit more than 7000 screens in India alone. If it is true, the film will beat the record of director SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2, in terms of screen count as it was released in April on over 6,500 screens across the country.
Economically speaking, films like Baahubali and Enthiran 2.0 are important in Indian cinema. Much to everyone’s disappointment, 2.0, which was supposed to release on Diwali this year, has been pushed to January 2018. While the film is currently in its post-production stage, reports are doing the rounds that the Rajinikanth-starrer has already beaten Baahubali 2.
According to a report in the Indian Express, Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar’s 2.0 is expected to release in over a massive 7000 screens in India alone. It is worth mentioning that SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion released in over 6500 screens in India. While 2.0 was earlier scheduled to release in five languages, reports now suggest that the number has gone up to 15.
If reports are to be believed, Rajinikanth is all set to rewrite box-office history once again. Made on a lavish budget of Rs 450 crore, 2.0 is touted as the costliest Asian film to be ever made. Directed by Shankar, the film stars Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson, Sudhanshu Pandey and Adil Hussain in important roles.
On the work front, Rajinikanth is teaming up with Kabali director Pa Ranjith for Kaala Karikaalan., which has already gone on the floors. Tipped to be a gangster drama, Kaala will release in the second half of 2018.
Meanwhile, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is running to packed houses even on its sixth week and has reportedly entered the Rs 1700-crore club. The Prabha-starrer will have a very grand release in China in July this year.
